Here are a few pictures from yesterday at the PTP function. :)

Napoleon and Deb (she's great. :) )

I'm Jon and I approve this message and Randy, but not Waddell.

p.s. I watched Napoleon Dynamite for the first time in a while before the function (you know…to attempt to get in character).  Hilarious.  I forgot how great that movie is.  :)

Happy V-Day. =) Sent out these beaux pictures today…wheefun.

I hope your day was full of joy and thankgiving, whether you have a “special person” in your life or not. :)

Happy v-day from some guys.

p.s. I’m not one to visit Digg much anymore (bunch of heathen liberals ;) ), but I thought this was great.

A perfect man

Posted: February 10th, 2010 | Author: Jon Yoder | Filed under: Jesus talk, Personal, muzing | Tags: , , | 1 Comment »

I just added a new category to the blog called “Jesus Talk.”  It’s basically the category that I’ll put all my spiritual (thoughts, ideas, findings, etc.) in.  This post will be the first one in the category, but hopefully I’ll do this a little more often.  We’ll see.

A perfect man would never act from sense of duty; he’d always want the right thing more than the wrong one. Duty is only a substitute for love (of God and of other people) like a crutch which is a substitute for a leg. Most of us need the crutch at times; but of course it is idiotic to use the crutch when our own legs (our own loves, tastes, habits etc.) can do the journey on their own. (C.S. Lewis)

I don’t always think of the reality of this truth, but it is so true.  I find myself trying to be good so often, and trying to do what’s right, but when I’m doing that, things just don’t work out.  It’s like trying to be a Christian without Christ.  I still struggle with this, and sometimes I can feel good about doing good for a few days, but then soon it will catch up to me, and I just won’t enjoy doing good things or being encouraging to people.

Old beaux entertainment videos

I was looking through the (incorrectly named) Video Project category of this blog, and noticed that I didn’t have many of the Pi Theta Phi beaux entertainment videos up. So for the sake of completeness, here are the other videos that I made and/or filmed and/or was at least a part of.

The most recent beaux entertainment video. I like the editing a lot, so mad props to Brett, who’s just above the play button in the video preview. :P

Hope times are going well, spirits are happy, and 2010 marks a new decade of good things happening. :)

The christmas picture that we made.

Made this for the Pi Theta Phi Spring Formal that was yesterday night. It was a lot of fun to do, and I think that it turned out really well. I have lots more to say about it, but I’ll save that for later.

Boder! :P

What what! :-) So this past Monday was super exciting for me. I’m really excited about all the opportunities that being beau’d will bring. I’m just hoping that I’ll be able to spread Christ’s love through this and encourage these awesome girls.

Since I’m having trouble explaining this situation to (fictional audience?) people not in Harding and people in Harding, I’m just going to stop here. :-P

Hear my prayer and answer,
I am poor and needy.
Guard my life for I am devoted to you.
Hear my prayer, O Lord, and
my cry for mercy, in this day of
trouble I will call to you.
Psalm 86
