The other day a bunch of guys from Harding headed out to flat rock for some camping and hanging out. Through the years, we’ve had a lot of good times out there. I’m a big advocate of getting outside of life’s regular routines and doing something memorable. A lot of times I don’t feel like doing something different, but sitting on the couch doesn’t make much of a story.

At times I create unrealistic expectations of how an experience will be. I’m a dreamer. Sometimes I have these ideas of how a moment will be a mountaintop experience. I’ll say something profound, everything will be amazing, I walk away with my theme song playing, leaving with a distinct feeling of success, going with guns blazing, etc., etc.
Sometimes things don’t work out how my mind hopes. Reality sometimes looks a lot less cool.
My solution? Don’t worry about it. Life goes on, just take it one step at a time, and do your best.
These two groups of people have made quite a difference in my life. I may not play much of a role in either of these clubs from now on, but I sure do hope the relationships last forever.

The first BOX function of the semester happened this past weekend. Whenever a ton of awesome people congregate, it’s always a fun time. This was no exception–twas a blast!
Getting everyone together before we head to the farm.
We went into the woods, found some pumpkins (that had grown there naturally, of course), and then started carving! Ashel and I had the great idea of carving a…camera! :)

There comes a time at the end of the spring semester when the historian of BOX has the opportunity to put a slideshow together of all the pictures taken throughout the school year. I enjoy the challenge of trying to make it awesome, and I guess it turned out pretty good this year.
Being a perfectionist makes it a ton of work to do. I didn’t freak out about it as much as I did last year (where I worked on it like 10 hours straight, if I remember right), but I still spend a decent amount of time tweaking the panning and zoom of each slide to make it’s being emphasized how I like it. Also, whenever it’s shown, I get kinda nervious, thinking about stuff like–are there enough good pictures? Gah, I put [person] in too many pictures. Is this slideshow too long? Credits were probably a bad idea. Is this too awkward to include? Etcetera.
I don’t know if it’s normal to be so picky about stuff like this. It’s just another reason that I never try to pretend or tell other people that I’m normal. :P
Anyways, enough boring sentimental hogwash. Here’s the slideshow, in as many pixels as you want. :-)
Edit: It looks like the second video was removed due to retarded record labels. I put it up on vimeo here.
Hope you enjoyed it. One person told me that it made them teary eyed / cry (is there a difference?), so my job is done. ;-) Adios!

I haven’t been quite as motivated to blog lately, but I’ve still been taking pictures. I always try to pick out my favorites to put on here, and it stinks when I can’t find anything great. However, once you go back far enough, you’ll always find something. :)
